About this Series
The Insights Into Chinese Culture Series is presented by Emmy Mo and offered once per month on Fridays at 10:30 am at Manlius Library. These lectures are in English and open for everyone to attend.
Since the dawn of the 21st century, the international community has been paying greater attention to China. People around the world want to learn more about Chinese culture in more comprehensive and profound ways. In our seminars, we will introduce certain unique features and highlights of the 5000 -year – long Chinese culture to friends who are interested. We will try to attempt to represent the spirit and core values of Chinese culture, especially those with universal significance. Subjects covered in this series of seminars range from Chinese Language and Characters, Porcelain, calligraphy and painting, the Silk Road, and Confucian Thoughts, to Chinese Gardens, the capital Beijing, Modern Glamour of Shanghai, and so on.
We hope that “Insights into Chinese Culture” can provide a new perspective for people to gain a deeper understanding of the true essence of Chinese culture.
