This PowerPoint program will encompass elements of railroading throughout the Town of Manlius, the railroad nucleus within the village of Manlius, and – overall – the history and geographic characteristics of the New York Central’s Chenango Branch – as the S&CVRR would become more widely known.
The presenter, John Taibi, is a native Long Islander who moved to Ccentral New York in 1994. He has restored, and now lives, writes, and researches in the former New York, Ontario & Western Railway station in Munnsville, NY. Taibi is a lifelong advocate for railroading and has produced over 15 books and 120 short stories, all of which deal with a variety of subjects involving railroading. He is a popular lecturer on this subject, and his presentations are informative as well as entertaining.
